Don't photographers do their own editing? Why would anyone farm that work out?
Photographers only have 24 hours in a day, just like everyone else. Taking beautiful images and editing images beautifully are two different skill sets. Your clients are paying you the big bucks for your photo talent, composition, style, and brand. You will be saving hours of your life that you can use to take more jobs or spend time with the people who matter to you most.
Why choose Color Reserve?
Color Reserve's editor is a photo professional and has over 10 years of photo editing experience. Using Color Reserve can also speed up your turnaround time, making you more attractive to potential clients. Imagine your clients responses when they learn that they can have their images back within 2 weeks instead of 2 months!
How do I know the images will look great when I get them back?
All edits are made by one professional photo editor on color-calibrated monitors with no daylight or artificial light in the editing room. You can also try before you buy. Send us up to 10 images to be edited for free before you send your bigger orders. Also, not only will each order have consistent images, but your orders will be consistent over time because Color Reserve has one digital editor doing all the work.
What if I don't like the results or you don't match my style?
I don't make attempts to match individual photographer's styles because you just can't get someone's style 100% right all of the time. That is why I have created the Color Reserve digital standard as an alternative. This approach adjusts the image to what it looked like in real life rather than editing differently for each client. This not only standardizes what you can expect to get returned to you, but also furthers our goal of achieving the utmost consistency among your images and orders.
Can I make adjustments to the edited files after they are sent back to me?
Of course. All of the images will be carefully edited to Color Reserve's digital standard, but you can always make any adjustment at any time. Since the images will be corrected to a neutral, lifelike standard, you may only need to make slight adjustments or add your own presets to get your individual style and look.
What adjustments do you make? What edits are included in the .34/ image rate?
My big three adjustments are to create a natural white balance, exposure, and contrast. I less frequently adjust highlights, shadows, or other global corrections. I do not adjust cropping or local corrections such as digital dodging and burning, dust spot removal, retouching, or other artistic effects like toning or black and white conversions. I believe that you don't need these adjustments to get to the digital standard and that these corrections tend to be subjective and/or artistic.
Why are your prices a little higher than some competitors?
.34/ image may seem like a random number, but it's not. All editing all takes place in Oakland, CA, not at a photo factory in the Midwest or overseas. Because this is a small operation I have to budget for health insurance and equipment costs among other considerations. Once you see how Color Reserve will free up your time and save you money in the long-run, .34/image will sound downright cheap.
What is your turnaround time?
December through May I can guarantee orders under 2000 images will be finished within 5 days. Because Color Reserve is a one person show, June through November is especially busy and some orders may take up to 10 days. I'll transfer the images to you right after they are done - I won't make you wait! Have a rush job? I may be able to accommodate. Contact me for a rush quote to fit your workflow.
Do you have a minimum order?
Nope! No added fees or confusing processes either.
